Hundreds gathered in Las Cruces for the Southwest March for Life 2026, united in one clear message: every life matters.
From the opening Mass to the march through the streets, this powerful event brought together families, leaders, and advocates determined to stand for the unborn. Voices from across the community—including Eric Enriquez—highlighted a shared commitment to protect life and defend human dignity at every stage.
Scripture reminds us of the weight of this choice:
“I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” — Deuteronomy 30:19
The reality behind this movement is profound. In the United States, over 1 million abortions occur each year, and since 1973, more than 60 million unborn lives have been lost. Worldwide, that number is estimated at 73 million annually. These are not just statistics—they represent human lives, each with a future that will never be lived.
As Las Cruces continues to grow, so does the conversation surrounding the development of abortion facilities in the region, including projects in Las Cruces and nearby Santa Teresa, New Mexico. For many in this movement, these centers represent more than buildings—they symbolize a direction that impacts the moral, social, and spiritual fabric of the community. Supporters of the march express concern that expanding access to abortion may contribute to a culture that overlooks the humanity of the unborn and the long-term emotional and societal consequences that can follow.
This video captures more than a single event—it captures a call to awareness, compassion, and action. From the earliest stages of life, the unborn child is a developing human being, deserving of dignity and protection.
